MS Dhoni MS Dhoni will lead CSK in IPL 2023 as well.  This has been confirmed by CSK CEO Kashi Viswanathan himself.  Also former India bowler Pragyan Ojha believes that he will lead as long as Dhoni is around.

With CSK handing over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja a few days before the start of IPL 2022, speculations are rife whether Dhoni will lead the team in IPL 2023 or the team will look for another face.

But now that the list of retained and released players is out, it is quite clear that The Great Thala will lead the team.

Dhoni's captaincy is sealed

CSK team CEO Kashi Viswanathan said that only MS Dhoni will lead the team in IPL 2023 and give his best and the team will do well.  Apart from this, former Team India bowler Pragyan Ojha also said that he will lead the CSK team as long as Dhoni is in the team.  The same situation was seen last year as well.

Ojha also said that he plans to captain a player who will lead the team for the next 5-6 years.  He also said that CSK is a team that does not believe in much change.

Akash Chopra also supported Dhoni

Pragyan Ojha is not alone in saying that Dhoni will remain the captain as long as he is in the team.  Former India batsman Akash Chopra also believes that as long as MS Dhoni is playing in the IPL, he will remain in command of CSK.  It is a different matter that the Chennai team played for the first time last year under the leadership of Ravindra Jadeja.

Performance was poor last year

Talking about the IPL season, last year was the worst for CSK.  4-time IPL champions CSK lost 6 out of 8 matches under Jadeja's leadership, after which Jadeja stepped down as captain and MS Dhoni returned as captain.
