Food activities

Food has three main functions:

• Empowers a variety of bodily functions.

• Helps the body to grow and restore aging cells.

• protects the body against various diseases and keeps it healthy and healthy.

Variety of food in india

India is a large country with a wide variety of soils and climates that determine the best growing crops, vegetables and fruits in the area. People in different parts of India cook differently. These factors mean that the food culture in different parts of the country is different.

Ingredients

A basic food dish like boiled rice is made by boiling rice in water. These foods have only two ingredients - rice and water. Chicken biryani, however, is made from rice, water, chicken, salt, several spices and vegetable oils. It has several ingredients. Where do we get these ingredients? We find it mainly in plants and animals. However, water and salt are two of the ingredients of the earth.

Food Resources

We get food from plants and animals. You know that green plants prepare their food for inanimate things - carbon dioxide, water and sunlight - found in the environment. Green plants are known as producers. They prepare more food than they eat. Extra food is stored in various parts of the plant as shown on page 7.

Animal eating habits

Animals cannot cook for themselves. They rely directly or indirectly on plants for food. Different animals eat different kinds of food. Their body parts are accustomed to the type of food they eat.

Herbivores are herbivores. Buffaloes, cows, deer and horses are herbivores. They have sharp teeth, cut in front and flat, and grind teeth in the back.

Carnivores are carnivores. Lions, tigers, wolves, dogs, snakes, eagles and vultures are carnivores. The animals have long sharp teeth and the breed has a strong sharp beak to tear the flesh. Snakes have real teeth, which are only used to help swallow the whole prey.

Omnivores are predators of both plants and animals. People are Omnivores. Bears, crows and cockroaches are also Omnivorous animals. Some carnivores and Omnivores, known as scavengers, mainly eat carcasses and help keep the environment clear. Other examples are crows, foxes, wolves and vultures.

Parasites are small animals that rely on other living animals for food. Mosquitoes live on the blood they suck from humans and other animals. A mosquito has a long pointed pipe in place of teeth, which is used to cut skin and absorb blood. Flies, leeches and bugs ars are also parasite. Some insects, such as the tapeworm, roundworm, and hookworm, live inside the animals' bodies and eat food that the animals have digested.

Food chain

The grasshopper eats the green plant, the frog eats the grasshopper, the frog is eaten by the snake, the snake is eaten by the eagle.

This series of events is called the food chain. The food chain shows how each living thing finds its food somewhere.

Research into food chains also shows us the dependence on biodiversity in the area. In a grassy country, there is a following food chain: grass> zebra> lion.

The most common food chain in the lake is:

Algae (small plants)> small fish> large fish.

Note that all food chains start with green plants. What does this mean? It means that all animals rely on green plants for food - directly or indirectly.

Our Inheritance

A few decades back in India it did not produce enough food grains and relied on foreign purchases to feed the people. In 1963, the most productive wheat seeds were introduced in India. Also, morder farming methods began to be used. This led to a dramatic increase in wheat production and India became self-sufficient in grain production.

This increase in food grain production is known as the Green Regular. Drs. M.S. Swaminathan is known as the "Father of the Green Revolution in India".
